PROCEDURE:
This project is expected to give smooth output of power transfer wirelessly. I had met my supervisor to discuss about the output of this project. From research and discussion with supervisor, i came out with the theoretical calculation as followed:
1. The most important element to be design is the transmitter and receiver coil. It is include the design of diameter and the displacement between coil. It is as below:
Transmitter design : 30cm of transmitter coil radius.
Receiver design : 10cm of receiver coil radius.
Displacement between coil : 20cm
The quality factor, Q for both coil theoretically set as 100.
2. The design of transmitter coil must be accurate to get the value of 20mH for transmitter coil and 6.7 mH for receiver coil.
3. The coupling coefficient for both coil is calculated using below formula:
k =
where, rT = transmitter coil radius, rR = receiver coil radius, a = orientation between coil (set as 0 degree to get maximum effeciency), and x = displacement between coil.
4. The theoretical expected about can be calculate using the system efficiency as below formula:
Input power = 4W
System efficiency =
so, the expected output will be 3.83W.
CONCLUSION:
The theoretical calculation shows high efficiency (greater than 80% efficiency) for the system. As the expected output will be achieved in the next practical design of project.
