WEEK 8

OBJECTIVE: Further research on the resonance inductive coupling theory.

PROCEDURE :

The dateline of project proposal presentation just around the corner. Well preparation should be done early especially on the basic system of wireless power transfer.

1. Induction coupling method:

 Inductive coupling method is the work of power transfer from transmitter coil to the secondary coil. it can be understand with animation video below.


The video shows how the wireless power works using two coils. However, the effect of transferred power will be less efficiency due to the power is transmit in varying direction. Some modification need to be done to ensure high efficiency of wireless power transfer. One of the modification that can help increasing the efficiency is the electrical resonance.

2. Resonance help increase wireless power transfer efficiency.

Resonance occur when an object vibrate at certain frequency which is the natural frequency of second object resulting the second object receive the vibrating energy from the first object.

In electrical resonance, capacitor is use to help tuning specific frequency in a circuit. For wireless power transfer, the capacitor is put at both transmitter and receiver circuit. So that, both circuit will works in matching frequency. The transmit power loss will be reduce as the receiver will get most of the power transfer before the power loss in the induction system through many cycle.

3. Works of resonance frequency.

The resonance frequency will work only on the equal value of capacitive and inductive reactant
in a circuit.

CONCLUSION:
The good explanation and firm basic of wireless power transfer can be helpful in the project proposal presentation.
